The Nigerian senate on monday, filed a suit before the supreme court, for the reinstatement of Justice Walter Onnoghen as the chief justice of the nation.
This action came after the senate shifted its earlier scheduled plenary on tuesday to February 19.
The clerk of the senate Mr Nelson Ayewoh made this announcement in a statement signed by him but he did not state the reason for the cancellation.
The Special Adviser to the Senate President (Media) Mr. Yusuf Olaniyonu in a statement released by him, however stated that the cancellation was due to the last minute decision by the leadership of the senate to seek judicial interpretation to Justice Onnoghen’s suspension by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
