Even though “You Can Let Go” marks his label debut as a solo artist, Janzen has always been involved in music. The Canadian singer-songwriter picked up the instrument as easily as learning to walk and talk. It is because of his parents, who both played in the Christian rock group Sojourner and gave him a passion for music. He started playing the drums with their worship team when he was seven years old. With a musically talented ear, he immediately began leading worship for his youth group. “For me,” adds Janzen, “worship and music go hand in hand. It has something to do with our relationship with God.

“You Can Let Go,” a heart-driven pop ballad that gives the listener permission to let go of past regrets, secrets, and all the things that can be so difficult to release, is a product of this intuitive understanding of music and a lifetime love for God. “People need Jesus more than ever,” he claims. “The God who will pull us in is the God of love and consolation. His love for us is unconditional. It doesn’t have to be done by us alone. Let go is an option.
